Cold, Cold Go Away...Don't come back!!

An update is long overdue! We have been struggling with sicknesses in our house the past 2 1/2 weeks. Simon caught a cold shortly after starting day care and it seems like he's finally getting rid of the last little bit of congestion in his throat. It has been really sad and hard to see him sick and not able to do anything for him. We took him to the doctor after his cough escalated one night. It scared me into paying for peace of mind (co-pays add up). Luckily the doctor said it sounded like a normal cold and just to make sure it didn't get worse or harder for him to breathe. Then one week later he had his 4 month check up so it was nice to get clarification that he was still fine even though he still had a lingering cough. He weighs 16 lbs 1 oz and is 25 inches long. We can't believe how big he is now and especially how fast the time is flying by.

Two weeks ago Brian and I got food poisioning. We later found out that my dad and little sister got sick too. So instead of us throwing out everything we ate Sunday, we figured out it was the dinner my dad made Saturday night at my Grandma's house. I haven't felt that terrible in my life! Needless to say it took us almost all week to recover from that one. And while our bodies were weak, Simon shared his cold with us, me first and then Brian a few days later. We are still dealing with the aftermath of our colds but we desperately hope the worst is over...for all of us!

But on to the happy parts. My dad was in town for 2 weeks so we went up to visit my Grandpa in his Care Center and my Grandma at her house. My grandma fell while my parents were up here for Christmas break and she broke a bone just above her ankle so she can't go anywhere. It was good to see both of them and Simon enjoyed seeing his great grandparents!
