Burrrrr

So this is the back side of our duplex. Yes, that is a real icicle that hangs down over half way down the top story of the house. It comes and goes like the snow this winter. On Thursday it was the longest either Brian or I had ever seen it. The window on the left is the window above our sink so it has been something we look forward to when we have our blinds open. On Thursday when we were making dinner we looked out and couldn't even see the bottom of the icicle so we went over to the big kitchen window and looked out. I know it sounds sad that this is our entertainment but it was so COOL!! The next day when I got home from work it had crashed down but not before Brian had taken a picture to prove how long it had been! There are always other thin, long icicles hanging off the roof too. Just make sure you're not standing too close to the house on a warmer day!!!! (Hopefully the cats that wander through our backyard won't be in the wrong place at the wrong time!)

This is about the most excitement we've had this winter. Neither of us are big fans of the cold weather but with an expensive gas bill we've been trying to conserve energy. We experimented last month to see how much money it would save us if we kept the heat way down. At the beginning of this month we got the gas and electric bills on the same day and came to find out we had saved a little on the gas bill but apparently we made up for it in the electricity bill!!! So, our attempts were futile and we've just given in to needing the heat!!
