Twice with his arm stuck like this and once with one of his legs sticking out the end of the crib. All within about 4 days. He was awake with the arm ones but sound asleep on his stomach with one leg stuck out the end of the crib. I felt bad for him getting stuck like this so I put the bumper pads up to try and keep him from getting stuck.
I have found him repeatedly playing with the bumpers when he should be sleeping or in the morning when he wakes up. I guess they're pretty entertaining. I've realized it's the simple things that kids like to play with, not some fancy toy with all the bells and whistles. But hey, it was keeping him from getting stuck so it was doing the job...at least until tonight.
Just a few minutes after putting Simon down tonight he started crying but quickly turned into screams so I knew I needed to check on him. I opened the door and found quite the sight. I don't have a picture because I felt really bad for him being stuck this time. Just imagine it if you can. He had flipped over to his stomach and backed himself out the side of the crib. Both legs were sticking out at the knees. His cute, chubby little knees got stuck in the slats of the crib. He had his back arched and was pushing himself up with his arms so it looked kind of funny but sad. Poor guy just can't lay still in his crib. Maybe he'll learn the hard way to sleep and not play in the crib.
Oh, and when he woke up in the middle of the night last night I went in to get him and he was sitting straight up in bed. I've never seen him get from laying down to sitting up but now I know he can do it! Needless to say, I've dropped the mattress down in his crib because now I'm worried he'll try to pull himself up on the rails and fall out. He's getting close to being able to pull himself up. He can easily get onto his knees just not quite to his feet.
We just got back a week ago from a week long trip to Texas visiting family and my brother's wedding. Pictures will come eventually when I get them but for now...a teaser picture of the cutest kid ever.
